We ask people to part with their money for someone they will probably never meet. The least we can do is show our working. This page sets out how Jivanam Foundation is governed, how contributions are split, and how you can verify all of it yourself.
Who we answer to
Jivanam Foundation is a non-profit company incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN: U88900UP2023NPL179625) and registered with Niti Aayog on the NGO Darpan portal (UID: UP/2023/0343733). We hold registrations under Sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
The Board meets quarterly, approves the annual budget, and signs off every expense above the threshold set in our internal financial policy. Accounts are audited annually by an independent chartered accountant, and statutory filings are made with the Registrar of Companies and the Income Tax Department.
How a contribution is used
Our working target is that at least 85 paise of every rupee reaches programmes on the ground. The rest covers the audit, compliance, banking and coordination costs without which the organisation could not lawfully operate.
- Programmes - school fees, books and uniforms; ration kits and meal drives; medicines and health camps; therapy and special child care; skill training for women.
- Field operations - transport, venue, volunteers kit and on-ground coordination for each drive.
- Administration and compliance - statutory audit, filings, bank charges, and the tools that keep donor records secure.
Verify us before you trust us
Every certificate we hold is published, in full, for anyone to download and check - the incorporation certificate, the Section 8 licence, 80G and 12A, the Niti Aayog certificate, PAN, TAN, MOA and AOA. They are on the Legal Documents page.
You can independently confirm our Niti Aayog registration on the NGO Darpan portal using the UID above, and our CIN on the MCA portal.
Safeguarding beneficiaries
Volunteers who work with children or other vulnerable beneficiaries are verified before they are placed, and are briefed on our safeguarding rules. Photographs are published only with consent, and identifying details are withheld wherever publishing them could put a child at risk.

If you believe something has gone wrong - a misused donation, a safeguarding lapse, or a person collecting money in our name - tell us. Write to info@jivanamfoundation.org or call +91 93109 69057. Concerns raised in good faith are investigated by a Board member who is not involved in the matter, and the person who raised it is never penalised for doing so.
