Jivanam Foundation respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through jivanamfoundation.org, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

We are the data fiduciary for this information. You can reach us at info@jivanamfoundation.org for anything in this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Contact form: your name, email address, phone number, subject and message.
Volunteer application: your name, email address, phone number, city, areas of interest, availability and anything you write in the message box.
Donation confirmation: your name, email address, phone number, the amount, the programme or case you chose, the transaction reference, and the payment screenshot you upload.

Information collected automatically

Standard server logs - IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you visited, used to keep the site secure and working.
Analytics data, where analytics is switched on, as described under Cookies below.

We do not collect card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs, net-banking credentials or any other payment secret. Payments happen entirely on your own banking or UPI app - we only see the reference you tell us about.

2. How we use your information

To respond to your enquiry or volunteer application.
To verify, record and acknowledge a donation, and to issue an 80G receipt.
To keep the accounting, statutory and donor records that Indian law requires us to keep.
To send occasional programme updates or appeals - only to people who have donated, volunteered or asked to hear from us, and always with a way to opt out.
To improve the Website and understand which pages are useful.
To prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Ever.

We process your information on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form, and on the basis of our legal obligations as a Section 8 company and a registered 80G/12A institution. You may withdraw consent at any time; where we are legally required to retain a record (for example a donation receipt), withdrawal applies to future communication rather than to the statutory record.

Access is limited to the people who need it. We may share information with:

Our own staff and authorised volunteers, on a need-to-know basis.
Our banks and payment channels, to confirm that a transaction actually reached us.
Our auditors, chartered accountants and legal advisers, under confidentiality.
Hosting, email and analytics providers who process data on our instructions.
Government authorities, where disclosure is required by law or by a valid order.

Donor names are never published on the Website without explicit permission. You may ask to remain anonymous at the time of donating.

5. Cookies and analytics

The Website uses a small number of cookies to keep forms secure (anti-forgery tokens) and to remember your session. Where enabled by us, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel may set their own cookies to measure traffic and campaign performance. 6. How long we keep it

Contact messages - up to 24 months from the date we close the conversation.
Volunteer applications - up to 36 months, or until you ask us to delete them.
Donation records and receipts - for at least 8 financial years, as required by Indian tax and company law.
Server logs - up to 12 months.

7. How we protect it

The Website is served over HTTPS. The admin panel is protected by individual accounts, hashed passwords, an image captcha and per-page permissions, so a staff member only sees the sections they need. Uploaded files are stored on the application server with restricted access. No system is perfectly secure, but we review these measures regularly and will notify affected people promptly if a breach ever puts their data at risk.

8. Your rights

You may ask us to:

confirm what personal information about you we hold, and give you a copy;
correct anything that is inaccurate or out of date;
delete information we no longer need to keep;
stop sending you updates and appeals;
withdraw a consent you previously gave.

Write to info@jivanamfoundation.org with your request. We will respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity first.

9. Children

The Website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Beneficiary children appear on the Website only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and identifying details are withheld or changed where that protects the child.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our programmes or the law change. The current version always appears on this page with its effective date shown by the last update we published.
